A commercially
exciting western in the vein of the traditional genre classics. From
the start, “SEAN” is a romp that keeps the audience on its toes. The
story offers great characters, mystery, action, humor and intrigue.
Jess is the old tired gunfighter who teaches Sean, a young deaf boy,
his deadly craft. When JESS & SEAN finally draw guns on each other
to see who is faster, it’s pure entertainment.
The
final resolution of the mystery between, JESS & SEAN catches us completely
by surprise. It was JESS who murdered SEAN’S
parents when SEAN was a child. He’s been taking care of SEAN all these
years as a way to mend his shame. Thus, when JESS confesses his sin
to SEAN after being shot by the SHERIFF, he can now die in peace,
his soul redeemed. Like all great westerns, “SEAN” ends with a climactic
gunfight. JESS has died and SEAN now has to confront the villainous
SHERIFF. The SHERIFF is confident but he is no match for SEAN. Even
when SEAN lets him draw first, the SHERIFF has no chance.
